For over 30 years John Coenen has been a musician. Starting out as a banjo player at school he joined The Cash after Kithara on guitar and bass. In between he made his first steps in the recording industry with East Avenue en joined The Walkers in 1975. This internationally very well known band changed their repertoire in the early eighties and called themselves The Press from that time on. The band had two major hit records, 'Cantara Pepe' and 'I'm gonna shoot the deejay' amongst very well selling albums and John also joined many productional ventures with people like for instance Telly Savalas, where he wrote for too ('Look what you've done to me'). After The Press split up John became a secretary, A&R Manager and Publishing assistant at Telstar Records until in 1996 he wrote a number of dialect songs and started a very succesful dialect-duo called Taai Taai. One hit record followed the other, amongst which 'Roed zien de roeze', 'De Alpenexpress' and 'Viva Tirol'. Mai 2004 John changed the duo for a solo carreer by his own name : John Coenen. Being very succesful on his own once again he changed his direction to create a project called SampleBrain, the kind of world music you will certainly enjoy listening to, watching many exotic landscapes go by whilst dreaming of holidays, swimming pools and cool drinks or to find your peace of mind back while driving home from work.
